It would have been great if Brees had signed months ago for 17 or 18M but can't exactly blame him for holding out for a better deal.

The deal will get done though. As it always works, no one starts making concessions until they absolutely have to.

Official: Brees 5 yr $100M, $60 guaranteed.

Gets $40M of the guaranteed money this year. Biggest contract until Arodgers signs his next deal.

I know Brees has his Super Bowl ring but i didn't realize that this fool (excluding the SB ) has never won a road playoff game.

Brees has only played in 2 road playoff games with the Saints and he played relatively well in both.

exactly. Two go-ahead 80 yard TD drives in the final 4 minutes against arguably the top D in the NFL this year. Not his fault the D completely folded against Alex Smith and the 49ers of all offenses.

Hope he got what he wanted. Last time I checked getting paid 19.2 mil to play football was a pretty good deal but I guess he thought differently.

Hope Breesus knows how to play defense and throw to himself because his contract is going to be a massive chunk of salary cap space. Enjoy the target on your chest and back because its going to be a very long season.

They are cheats pure and simple tapping their visiting locker rooms and trying to end people's careers. That is more deserving of an * than So Cals National Championships. Hopefully next season every last Taint that had taken part or even knew of the bounty system their career gets ended with horrible concussions and injuries. They should have been hit harder than what Goodell hit them with.
