So I've cut this song the way I want it, but I can't figure out how to save it as a MP3 file. I downloaded the "lame" that they suggested, but it still doesn't do it.
Anyone know how to do this? |

Have you mixed down the waveform? I have audacity on an old laptop at home...i'll check it later after work.

I might be thinking of cool edit...which was before audacity. Either way I have both at home, like I said I can check after work. So you are trying to save a section of something you recorded into mp3 format? Is it more than 1 track?

I'm going to cut a few songs and put them together (my cuz is doing a body building comp and needing music for it) I've cut out the section that I want of one song, but I can't save it as an mp3 file.

If I remember correctly, you cannot "Save" or "Save As" and achieve MP3 format on that program. Try the "export" option, I think it will give you an MP3 format option.

When you are in the export window, when you get to where you are moving the file...does it have a drop box with a save file type as, usually you can click that and look for the mp3 selection also.

I'm pro tools certified but I know a little about Audacity. Look for bounce to disk or export to disk. Something of that nature.

after you download the .dll file save it somewhere on your c:\ drive, preferably in the directory of the audacity install. Then on the "locate lame" prompt in audacity click the browse button and navigate to the location of the .dll file, select the .dll file and click open/ok.
