What to call the Farmer's Market site

You're right that a large number of people will continue to call it the Farmer's Market. However, since there is still a Farmer's Market (they just moved so the University could buy that land), it doesn't make much sense to keep calling it the Farmer's Market.

I like Carolina Commons as well. Gives us the nod as "Carolina", something we are trying to push, and also allows us to have a nickname for it as "The Commons", instead of a mouth full like the other proposed suggestions.

Since it's on the old Farmer's Market site, I'm gonna go with "The Barnyard". I think they should name the walkway down the middle of it "Garnet Way".

I completely understand it no longer houses the farmers market. However, it is located in the space that was the farmers market for 50+ years. Changing the name now will just be confusing.

And something like Carolina Commons sounds like an apartment complex, its lame.

The reason I think they should change it, is because it is completely football now, and it is too good to be called the Farmers Market anymore. It looks amazing, and deserves an amazing and Gamecock oriented name.

The Farm. Since it used to be the farmers market and it's where Gamecocks grow and the old farmers market building somewhat resembles a barn. Don't know if i want anything farm related tied to the program but it's short and sweet.

I believe simple is best. Only one school I know of has done such a good job naming its tailgating spot that it has a national reputation: "The Grove."

The new tailgating space should keep some of the source material but be simple and iconic and true to Gamecock tradition. So, "The Market."
