Official Marcus Injury update thread

Hopefully we can keep this thread clean and just have one thread that pertains completely to his injury.. maybe a little help from the Mods?

Saw on espn that he has a dislocated knee. They said he could play next year. Or take a year off and play for is in 2014

Coach Spurrier commented on Marcus Lattimore during today's weekly SEC teleconference.
"The knee dislocated, but they got it back in quickly. ... Marcus had a good attitude today. He knows what the road ahead is. We all hope and pray he'll be back...Whatever the time frame this knee requires we will have to wait and see. We're optimistic that his football days are still ahead of him."

Spurrier mentioned that since he has never redshirted Marcus has two years left to play his one year of remaining eligibility and noted that other players have come back from these types of injuries and played for a long time.

... Coach Spurrier was asked about rumors but declined to comment on any specific injuries, said those are questions for the doctors and medical staff.

Spurrier: "Marcus is probably the most popular Gamecock we've ever had here."

I just got home so SIAP but the University will hold a campus birthday party/ rally for Marcus tomorrow at 5pm at McKissick. Marcus won't be there but it will be streamed online so he can see it. They will have cards for people to sign. SIAP

just some HYPOTHETICAL two cents, accoridng to my wife and one of the guys she graduated from physical therapy school with, they both said it looked like a dislocation and tear of a bunch of ligaments in the knee. I was quizzing her about it and she said that something like a break or torn ligament is something they can come back from, the problem is the muscle getting weaker while it's healing since that does take awhile (think about the loss of muscle mass while a leg is in a cast for example). If there is anyone who's got the attitude to do that long term rehab and come back it's Marcus though.

A lot of people on twitter earlier were saying that he broke his femer and patella and tore his acl, lcl, pcl and mcl before they said it was hyperextention of the knee with injury to several ligaments. Lots of different info out there it seems. Latest is probably the best though:
