Darius English to LB???

Does anyone other than me think English has then skills to play LB for us next year...Then he can put his hands down at DE after Clowney heads to the NFL after next season

Could be a possibility, it would be funny to see a 6'8" LB. I think he will be used on passing situations in the rabbit package with his hand in the dirt.

He's pretty tall. Maybe in a 3-4 scheme. But kind of a high center of gravity to be a LB in our scheme.

He very well could be. He just needs to put some weight b/c Lawing said he is the most athletic (other than clowney) on the DL.

I agree...He seems to have much better lateral quickness and agility than DT....

Whats his weight?? He came in at 225....He should be 245 or 250 by spring....18 year olds add muscle very fast when nutrition and resisitance training are optimal

They have him listed on the roster at 215lbs. I dont know what his weight is currently.

Darius English will push Sutton for the starting DE position. He's going to be a great one for us. The only possibility of a LB move is Kelvin Rainey(Likely). Our youngsters like Larenz Bryant and David Johnson probably will get some field time. (Bryant might win the WLB position)
With Cooper likely out next year we have Holloman and Kaiwan Lewis(4 star ILB prospect) and we'll need our young guys to provide depth.

AmonRa777, where have you been after all this time? Good to hear from you. Used to love reading your posts back in '06 & '07. Regarding English, he'll be Clowney's backup I'm guessing. He'll still see plenty of PT at backup DE in Whammy's defense.

Marcquis Roberts and Kelvin Rainey will probably make the switch to LB.

They could decide that Mason Harris needs to be a LB full time.

Might see a guy like Kyle Fleetwood make the move.

WHY do people constantly forget about Alfy Hill? HE is the guy who will push Sutton for starting DE. Sutton should be JD's primary backup, with Hill taking the strongside DE position (better fit there than Sutton is IMO)

I can't believe anyone would put an unknown in Alfy Hill in front of a stud like Sutton. Total lack of respect for IMO the second best DE on the team.

Darius English has so much talent. Lawing said that he has more straight line speed than JD Clowney. Let that sink in. Alfy Hill hasn't even enrolled yet and while he will be in the 2 deep, Sutton is the likely starter. Our rabbit package will be hellacious with Sutton, Clowney, English, Hill. Ridiculous pass rushing talent. Hill will be a good one for us as well but I'm going to wait until he's actually in a carolina uniform to proclaim him as the next big thing.
