Winter Park (Fla.) defensive end Trent Harris has Florida as his clear-cut favorite. Florida State trails, and he wants to take a trip to Alabama this spring. He plans on making his decision on May 24 after his spring game.

Harris is starting to pick up some big-time offers, and on Saturday he showed why. During one-on-ones he stole the show, using his quickness and excellent footwork to outpace bigger, slower offensive linemen. Harris easily looks athletic enough to play on the weak side in a 4-3 and might even have a future at outside linebacker.

Trent Harris out of Winter Park (Fla.) is a hot name in recruiting circles. That tends to happen when Alabama and Florida extend early offers. Harris is very good using his hands to counter and get linemen off balance.

At the Orlando RCS, Harris flashed his tremendous quickness off the snap and his ability to work outside and inside against slower linemen. While he's not the biggest defensive end, he showed the athleticism to be a pass-rush specialist, as well as a potential outside linebacker.
