Was at the Wagener-Salley @ Pelion game tonight. Tyler caught one pass that he housed from 64 yards out. Caught it around midfield and rumbled past the defense. Impressive play, but that was the only time I heard his number called with W-S running the ball so often and so well, particularly in the second half.

TE RJ Tyler of Wagener-Salley is hearing from a number of schools but has not yet been offered according to his coach Kenneth Tucker. Tyler, the son of former SC State and NFL TE Robert Tyler, attended a junior day at NC State. He also camped at USC and Clemson. "Coach Mangus (USC) was by a couple of weeks ago and had a lot of good things to say," Tucker said. But the coach noted that USC has strong interest and offers out to in-state tight ends Kevin Crosby Jr. and Kalan Ritchie. As for Clemson, Tucker said Charlie Harbison was recruiting Tyler before he left for Auburn and they've not heard much from the Tigers since then. Tucker said Tyler is an excellent blocker and is asked to do a lot of that in their offense which is run oriented. He did have 20 catches and 6 touchdowns last season.

TE RJ Tyler (6-3 230) of Wagener-Salley is hearing from USC, NC State and Vanderbilt but has not received his first offer to date. This Saturday he heads to NC State for his first junior day. "I really don't know too much about them," Tyler said. "I'm going up there to learn more. I know it's a good football program but that's about it." USC and Vandy are two other schools he would like to visit. "USC keeps sending me letters letting me know that if I keep working hard, maybe there will be an offer," he said. "I definitely want to visit." He plans to camp at USC and Clemson this summer among others. Tyler does not have any favorites.

TE RJ Tyler of Wagener-Salley picked up his first offer last Wednesday from Appalachian State. He continues to hear from USC and NC State. "I am really happy about it," Tyler said. "They told me they looked at my film and really liked me. They want me to come up this spring and see if I like it there." He will attend the spring game in Boone. His only visit thus far was to an NC State junior day last month. "It's really nice there," he said. "The facilities are really nice and I liked the coaches and all." As for where he stands with the Wolfpack. "I don't really know as far as an offer goes. I think they're still evaluating me." Tyler has no other visits planned. He did not name a leader.

TE RJ Tyler of Wagener-Sally has an offer from Appalachian State and is hearing from Clemson, The Citadel, Furman, Georgia Southern and NC State among others. Clemson, Furman and The Citadel all visited him last week. "Clemson came by to talk to me," he said. "They have a new coach and he wanted to introduce himself. This is his area. He told me he liked my size and wanted me to camp up there this summer." Furman and The Citadel also invited Tyler to camps. He plans to attend all three. Tyler will also attend camps at USC and NC State. He does not have any favorites. "Recruiting has been a little quiet but it's starting to pick up now," said Tyler who's schools began spring practices Thursday. He does not have any favorites.

I played ball with Tyler. I am surprised that he hasn't gotten more than 1 offer but im sure the offers are about to pour in. I talked to him today about it and he said if USC does offer they would probably try and put him at DE. FWIW
