If the running back class isn't the theme in 2014, the versatile athlete is. The rankings are littered with 6'0+ athletes who can play multiple positions, and the best of the bunch looks to be Tony Brown of Ozen High School in Texas. Projected at corner, Brown could just as easily end up at safety on the next level. He has safety size with cornerback agility, and is a legit track competitor. Brown has the skills to fit in any scheme in that he's strong enough to play press and release coverage, and he's agile enough to run downfield with the fastest receivers.

DB Tony Brown of Beaumont, TX has nearly 30 offers to include Clemson. Brown runs track and is nationally ranked in hurdles and the 100M. "I'm number one in the country in the 110(M) hurdles and number five in the 100(M)," said Brown. "I haven't really had time to visit any schools but I do when I can." The two schools Brown has visited are Alabama and Texas. "To get to talk to a national champion head coach that you've only seen on TV is pretty cool," said Brown of Nick Saban and his Alabama visit. "Both schools were amazing." Though Brown has not head from Clemson of late, he is not ruling out the possibility of a visit. "I want to see as many schools as I can so I know I'm making the right decision," he said. "I would like to see what Clemson has to offer." One caveat to his recruitment said Brown, "I've made it clear that I'll only go to a school that let's me run track and play football. Track is my first love." He does not have any favorites.

Brown is a scheme-versatile DB who can handle a lot of different responsibilities that usually end up in big plays. He will line up at CB, nickel or safety and produce in both man and zone schemes. He has good size with a long, muscular frame that allows him to play bigger and also recover and cover more ground. Smart and instinctive with a ball-hawk mentality. Makes momentum changing interceptions and fumble recoveries.
