18 Game SEC Schedule. How Many Wins?

We start SEC action this Wednesday @ Miss St. After watching the guys win 10 OOC games I wonder how many wins we can get before the SEC Tourney, which all teams will participate in this year. If we are able to get 10 wins in the SEC portion of the schedule, we would have to be a bubble team when the SEC Tourney gets under way. That's asking a lot with this team, but I think it is achievable. The NIT would be a great accomplishment for this team, but I'm hoping we can turn some heads this year and make The Big Dance.

I'm going out on a limb here and gonna say we will win at least 9 games in the SEC this year. Throw in a upset against Mizzou, UF or KY and we could get that 10th SEC win and possibly get in The Big Dance with a couple wins in the SEC tourney.

beating any team in the SEC is going to be difficult for this team, even if the other team is not very good. Hopefully they'll get enough for the NIT at least.

i think they could get 8 wins if they can beat UGA,Vandy,and Miss St. twice then manage to steal two more maybe Auburn and upset another team.

6 wins in the SEC would be incredible considering...

We should be able to compete with teams like Miss St, UGA, and Auburn. Then, we could steal a game from one of the lower-mid teams like Vanderbilt.

I'm hoping we start improving each game and win some against those and the lsu's, ole missus and A&M's of the league.

I think the Mizzou games will be very interesting.

I think we'll probably end up like 4-14 give or take a game or two, but its really not all that important as long as we keep getting better. Win total this year is fairly irrelevant, I'd just like to make the NIT

We have to win 8 or nine to make the NIT, most likely.

Winning is always relevant. The guys have to take notice that their hard work is paying off. I don't think FM has won less than 20 games in a year in his five years as head coach. I'd be willing to bet he'll come very close to that mark this year. Also, hasn't all his previous teams made The Big Dance?

He missed the tourney his second year. He also had the benefit of having Michael Beasley on his team his first year when he made the tourney.

Coach Martin said that he expected to be 13-0 now. I don't know how many SEC games they will win, but I know our coaching staff will be trying to win every one of them.

@david: We could use a Downey type player this year, but maybe someone will step up and
lead the team to unexpected wins. Williams? Maybe Leonard if he finds his shot? When everyone is healthy and Bruce gets rolling, I think we'll give a lot of teams a run for their money.
