You act as though we were supposed to win it all this year. Everyone knows this team is young and needs to develop, plus more talent. Martin will get us there.

That's really the important part. Each person handles a loss differently whether their expectations are lowered or not. I even said I didn't have a good feeling about the game and the loss still upsets me.

I'm disgusted by the amount of turnovers we are committing, but it is what it is.

Gill and Harris transfered.

Geather's was injured before the season started.

Hall didn't qualify.

Bruce played football and missed a lot of practice time and game experience.

Leonard broke his freakin' nose and Page not going to class and getting kicked off the team was the icing on the cake.

It's already been a long first year for Frank and it's gonna get longer.

Frank Martin is doing what he can with what he has...I am glad to see that the kids are hustlin and grindin (I'm cool)...You can see the effort is there but the height and top talent is just not there at key positions...good thing is that tickets are easy to get and the games are much more entertaining this season...The gamecocks should be good two years from now (talent and experience).

I'm not happy about losing and I know both these last two games were winnable. But one thing I will say is the guys seem to have a purpose on the floor. They aren't just passing around until the shot clock expires and jacking up wild threes. They will improve. The one thing about Horn's teams is they seemed to get worse as the season went along and I understand the games are against tougher opponents but I'm talking about the lack of any kind of game plan. It seems like we ran an offense to start but kind of said the hell with it as the season went along.

There is a vast difference in what Coach Martin has these guys trying to learn compared to what Horn did not teach.
One question, how many of these non freshman do you think Coach Martin would have recruited?
When he has a couple of classes of his players you will wonder how such a change could come about!
Just wait and see. I just hope that I will still be around to see it, really excited about what is ahead for our program.

If those two guys would've stayed this year, we would be middle of the road SEC and not bottom of the league SEC.

Such a shame they couldn't stick it out and decided to abandon the team.

Frank Martin is going to have to do what the HBC did in football change the losing culture, it is going to take a year or two but we will get there. I had high hopes that Page would be a huge asset to at least put us around the middle of the pack instead of bringing up the rear, but his selfish behind is gone not going to class I mean how many classes did he even have he already graduated, yet this guy (holding my tongue on what I think about that selfish laziness) couldn't even go to class WTF. Hopefully Coach Martin told him not to let the door hit him on the rear on the way out.

So we've already reached the win total from last season and we need a vent thread? Doesn't make much sense to me. I can tell this team is way more prepared to play and win. If we haven't improved next season, then there should be a vent thread. This season would be a success if we make the NIT. Too soon for the vent thread...sorry, but step back and look at the situation.

Frank is doing the best he can with a bare cupboard. I'd generously give him 2 more years just to show improvement, and another 2 yrs to produce a winner.

Some of us get frustrated over losing games in Basketball, no matter if we were supposed to win the game(s) or not. But I agree it's too early for a season vent thread. This is the third year counting we want to see improvement from the beginning to the end of the year and I think we will. We already have in most facets of the game, especially rebounding.

As far as the record goes, do you realize we had the second easiest OOC schedule in college basketball? Out of 347 teams, our SOS was 346 after the OOC schedule.

I don't understand the point of predicting a loss. Publicly. Especially with a first year coach. Do you really think you are demonstrating some sort of significant insight born by superior basketball knowledge. Well... no, no it's not.

I understand this is a public forum for everybody to post their opinions, I just don't understand the mindset of a fan that would predict a loss. I would never tell my children that they were not going to succeed, no matter what the situation is. It would be one thing if we were talking about grown men playing in the pros, but we're talking about kids and a first year coach.

Some coaches get lucky in their first year and have the right parts for their system. But this is the exception, not the rule. We have already witnessed significant improvement on the court and in recruiting. Let's do our part and support the new staff, help them build our team up. If we're still lacking in a couple years, then I will join you in tearing it down.

But for right now... it's time to PUMP SOME SUNSHINE!

Honestly if there is absolutely one thing I wish Coach Martin could improve with this team, it's turnovers. I believe in the two SEC games this team has played in, they have turned the ball over 40+ times. Somebody mentioned hustle by this team, well I see a lack of hustle with all the lazy passes and ball being stripped or just being out muscled by the opposing players. It seems like this has happened exactly when we don't need it. At the end of the game.
