Another 2015 standout, Huggins definitely is a prospect on the rise. At this stage, he is well on his way to being a high-rankings guy down the road.

The 6-feet-3, 250-pounder already boasts offers from the likes of Clemson, Florida, Florida State and South Carolina, and more should come this spring. For a young player his size, Huggins displays good quickness and very good feet.

He's also extremely strong.

Right now, Huggins is a strong-side end. But if he keeps growing, it wouldn't be a shock to see him become a tackle. Either way, he figures to be among the elite prospects in South Carolina for 2015.

This will be our first up-close look at Huggins.

Arguably the most impressive sophomore on hand, Huggins picked up an Alabama offer Friday and two days later showed us why. The 6-feet-3, 260-pounder, who probably will end up playing tackle in college, carries excellent weight and has a big, strong body from top to bottom. In position drills, he was explosive and utilized a ferocious rip. During one-on-ones, Huggins was lightning-quick at the snap, then displayed speed, aggression and sound counter moves.

A 6-feet-3, 250-pound strong-side end/tackle, Huggins is among the best of the 2015 prospects registered. He picked up an offer from Alabama on Friday, and also has them from Clemson, Florida and South Carolina. Huggins will be among the most heavily recruited players nationally for his class.

Huggins, who was offered by Alabama last Friday, was excellent on Sunday. The 6-feet-3, 260-pounder is a big kid that carries very little bad weight. His upper body already is pretty chiseled, and his power base is stout. Look for Huggins to eventually become a tackle. Right now, though, he's an excellent strong-side end with quickness, a ferocious rip and solid counter moves. Huggins only knew one speed at the Charlotte NFTC, and that was full speed.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Huggins hasn’t received the same attention as Blackshear thus far in-state, but is a very talented prospect in his own right. Huggins has very quick and strong hands, along with a quick first step and the frame to stack significant muscle mass/weight. Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Alabama have offered, among others.

A third class of 2015 defensive line prospect seen today is future Top247 member Albert Huggins (Orangeburg, S.C./Orangeburg-Wilkinson). The near 6-foot-3, 281-pounder was working on his first step and pass rush moves working one-on-one against class of 2014 offensive tackle and cousin Messiah Rice (6-7, 255) upon our arrival. 

The physically-advanced, but athletic Huggins lists Georgia as his childhood and current favorite. The Bulldogs offered March 26, and were preceded by South Carolina, Clemson, Florida, Florida State and Alabama.

In watching Huggins work with Rice, he wins mainly on short space quickness and natural strength at this point with the use of the hands an area the 345-pound bench presser is looking to improve. Huggins doesn’t turn 16 until June 27.

Orangeburg (S.C.) Wilkinson strongside end Albert Huggins was joined by Bluffton (S.C.) High prospect Shameik Blackshear and Ridgeville (S.C.) Woodland player Michael Barnett as three players who knew of one another walking into the event.

"Me, Shameik and Mike are ready to blow up," Huggins said. "That's what I am ready for, is to blow up."

Huggins said he has been working in the weight room and bulked up since the season ended. He weighed in at just less than 280 pounds -- which was up from 253 at season's end -- and said he figures to be playing at 265 this season.
Huggins has offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia, as well as two in-state programs, Clemson and South Carolina.

He said he loves Clemson but he uses a player on South Carolina as inspiration: former five-star recruit and No. 1 player in the country Jadeveon Clowney.

"He is like a mentor, in my mind," Huggins said. "I use him to push myself every day in the weight room and push myself when I go out onto the field."

Huggins is a junior and is not ranked by Rivals.com. He said his goal is to break Clowney's records and be the next big thing to come out of the state.

Both are goals that Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Mike Farrell said are attainable.

"He's a four-star at the minimum," Farrell said. "We will have to see how he develops, but right now he looks like he is built to play strongside or weakside defensive end with the ability to slide inside if he needs to."

I have a feeling this one will go all the way to NSD.
UGA dream school? I'm born and bred South Carolina (state), I just happen to be a Gamecocks fan... even when we sucked. Especially now that we've had some consistent success it blows my mind the amount of in state kids who don't consider us or Clempson dream schools.
If I had a football scholarship from every school in the country I'd still go to SC bc that's my team.
Just a little blown away by the # of high profile recruits from SC who aren't die hard fans for us or Clempson
