anybody owns a business?

one day I want to have my own. I want to start making friends that have their own business just so later in life I can come back for advices.

I don't know when or how but at one point I do want have something I can put my name on.

I have a sign installation and vehicle wrapping business.
While being your own boss is great, it can also come with a lot of headaches. When things go wrong, all the responsibility is on you. You can't just clock out at 5:00 and forget about it all. Right now it's just me, but hopefully I'll be hiring an employee pretty soon.
For now though, I have to do all the work, respond to all the emails and phone calls, do all the billing/invoicing and paperwork associated with running a legit business. Once I finish with the actual paying work, there's all that other crap to do.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change anything. It's just a lot more work than people think.

i have an auto machine & performance parts businezz and its ok i had to borrow $250.000
to start and its been a hell of a ride still not making much money help sucks and nobody wants to work !!!!!!!!

if i could i would have a titty bar if the lord thy god woundnt give me cancer 1st , overhead is a problem and 1099 every MF'er u hire

one day ill be in good shape and my wife is a director for a organization who works with disable children , and makes great money to help us along, my advice is no over head and screw it and just do it

I have been a successful president of two organization so Im pretty confident on my work ethic and a lot of my friends are soccer state champs just like me so we love working hard, we live for it.

I know is not gone be easy but my dream is to have my own business one day, my mom used to own a business and she was just a beast, she did it on her own, she sold the business already but she bought 2 houses for herself.

At one point I gone go for it, if I messed up, ill start back again, I just don't like the idea of working for somebody else my whole life, that's not me.

Franchising is an option. You get to own your own business but there are some safety nets along with training on how to run the corporate side of things.

Good five suggestions to start, especially #1 (I am an accountant).
I would add:
6. Learn your business working for someone else, learning every aspect, administratively, professionally, financially, relationally (customers, resources, suppliers, Etc) for at least 5 years.
7. Get as much training (Tech schools are good) and education as you can, as far as you can go.
8. Find and listen to a good business mentor.
9. Focus on good ethics as a way of life, not just a job.

Another key piece of advice is don't take on a partner. I did, and it big me in the behind badly. Left me almost half a million in debt. Now I am by myself. Life is easier and a whole lot less complicated, and enjoyable.
