Fourth visitor last weekend

Carey Rich said that a prep school player named Darryl Reynolds 6-9 220, was also in for a visit last weekend. He might have been the 6-8 guy that was mentioned by Bill Gunter.

We had Henry, Reynolds, Theus, and Notice in. We are still waiting for official visits from Millinghaus and Fludd. That's a lot of potential recruits for a team that has no scholarships open.

We could see a lot more players leaving the program than I thought. In a way, I hate to see that, but I understand that the coaches want to see a dramatic improvement next year. Not year after next, but next year. They are not going to be willing for improvement to come slowly and take 3-4 years to have a good team. They are going to try to make it happen as soon as possible.

Isn't there a rule on how many players you can sign in a 2 year period? I thought it was something like 8.

Use to be a 5/8 rule. Max of 5 in a year and max of 8 over two. Was a good rule in my book.

I'm all for it...players leave all the time when a new coach comes in...naturally we won't get all those guys..I seriously think we will land half of the guys....of course some guys will have to leave...but which Horn guys on the team can you say "We will really miss that guy?"

Maybe Richardson.
Leonard...no.
Slawson...no.
Smith...no.
Williams...no.

Players I wouldn't mind seeing leave:
Leonard
Slawson
Smith

I wouldnt mind keeping, but if we recruit better talent and they leave good luck to them:
Richardson (seemed to improve as an overall player instead of just a 3 pt shooter)
Williams (was a key player this season on the team when he saw the court)

Both Williams and Richardson were players I saw throughout the season improve and have impacts when they saw the court. I only missed about 5 home games this season and they were the only 2 other than Chatkevicus, Kacinas, Carerra, Tyrone Johnson and Ellington I would keep. If we can replace Williams and Richardson with better talent/attitude/work ethic I am all for it though.

Dont really know what to say about Geathers since he was injured all season.

I don't want to see anyone leave, unless they want to. But I understand why some guys might be asked to. I wish them the best, and hope they all have very successful lives.

When will we be finding out about transfers. I mean at this point with all the guys we are recruiting, and have signed already, there will be some transfers.

Im thinking 5 r gone. Wont know for sure who is leaving until after signing day is my guess. I think we will get 4 new guys at least. 1-2 bigs(henry,reynolds), 1 3(theus, fludd), 1 combo guard(millinghaus, notice), and 1 point(hawkins, harrison, the hartsville kid).

When Martin was starting walkons it's a pretty good bet a few more players wouldn't be coming back next year.

TBS said the attrition number was probably going to be 5.....didn't name anyone. Also said Martin hasn't had any player meetings yet.

Also said Henry's visit couldn't have gone better.

Funny how Horn was trashed for letting players leave and supposedly "running players out of town", yet Martin is being praised for doing the exact same thing.

Galloway, Harris, and Gill were good players. I can't speak to exactly how Horn treated these players, but "encouraging" transfers can be a good or bad thing. The departure of Galloway, Harris, and Gill resulted in 3 of our top 5 players leaving the team. On the other hand, losing guys like Leonard, Smith, Richardson, Slawson, etc won't hurt us too much. With all due respect, these guys just aren't very good

What's funny is that you loved everything that Horn did, defended him at all costs, when he was an awful coach. Now we have a good coach and you question every single thing he does.

Everyone taking about numbers no worries when Coach Martin cane in KSU fans said to expect about 2 to 3 kids to leave an off season we will find out soon enough trust in Coach Martin.

If Brenton Williams has the ability to get better, I'd like to see him stay....... but I just have this feeling that isn't likely.......

I just want a team that can compete! The first couple SEC games, I thought we might have a shot at the NIT...... man, was I on drugs, kool-aid, or something! LOL
