I'd love to see some of those old Florida/2005-2006 formations back into the playbook.

Also would like to see more of the draw play out of the I formation. We've gotten away from that since Elliott came aboard. That used to be a Spurrier specialty and we always seem to tear off big yardage whenever he does call it.

We'll need a receiver or 2 to compliment Bruce and a little more consistency from the offensive line, but the peices are in place for both QBs to excel if Spurrier is planning on taking off the training wheels.

I could be looking way too much into it, but this also tells me that the young defense has some growing pains coming

I think a reversion to some of the old I stuff from the early Carolina / Florida days would be highly dependent on having an effective fullback. I have a copy of the 2000 Florida passing game, and the fullback is prominently featured. I would expect we are more likely to see TEs brought into motion as an H back, or singleback looks. But all of this is contingent on our OL maturing and developing the ability to really generate push in man-blocking situations.

We need to use our TE's more!!!!!! We have 2-3 that all have big time talent.. Jerell Adams could be the best weapon in the SEC with his size speed and skills- any reason why he is not a bigger part of the offense?

Its a knowledge thing from what I understand. He had some trouble picking up the playbook last season. That is pretty common for freshmen with Spurrier's system, though. He will probably make some leaps this year.

Because the offense is based predominately on timing patterns with the receivers. The Tight Ends are used when the situation calls for it or as a check down. You aren't going to see Adams/Anderson/Owens lined up at WR running slant and deep post patterns. Spurrier has typically set up his Tight Ends with other plays which is usually why they are wide ass open 90% of the time on crossing & drag patterns and down the seam. The passing scheme will always be WR driven with the X and Z receivers getting most of the targets. It would be nice if our B receiver got into the mix as well. The Tight Ends and Backs are check down options or used when the situation calls for it. Its been like that for a long time.

Almost 90% of Busta's catches have been on drag or crossing routes.

Adams only TD catch last season was on a crossing pattern.

Thats how Spurrier uses them .. Jared Cook was really the only anomally.

can't see how any Gamecock fan would not think we are among the elite's.. thetse past years we could have beat ANY team on a neutral field, and that will not change this year. We have BY FAR the best player in college football, and no other team can claim that-- not even Bama!

Now is the time to complete the rise to the top, and it will be quite a ride (barring injury to Clowney)!!!
