Whatever.

We'll be fine and should at least host a regional.

Those are the worst projections Ive ever seen. VT as the #5 overall seed? What? They are not a national seed. LSU as low as the #7? no way they arent in the top 3 right now. Miami hosting? really? Not even close. And Mississippi St hosting over us after losing their last 4 series in a row? This guy should lose the right to run that website after those garbage projections.

These projections are much more realistic. However, I still dont see how you can project mississippi st to host right now and not project kentucky to host. As of right now, the projection would have to be UK to host. Also dont believe Ole Miss has proven anything to be worthy of a national seed. But in the end, none of this matters, just a topic of discussion.

You are absolutely correct. Whoever came up with those projections is a complete and utter moron when it comes to college baseball.

Maybe he was just seeding conferences ... VT does have the 5th best record in the ACC.

The question was when was the last time we didn't start slow (you know, as if our current 23-7 start is somehow "slow")

The 2000 club that was the subject of my tongue-in-cheek response started the season 22-0 en route to a 56-10 finish . . . and they were 26-4 over the first 30 games, so our current squad is a whole three games off that 2000 squad's pace through 30 games.

By the way, the 2011 squad started the year 25-5 thru the first 30 . . . so your answer was equally on point - I was just making fun of pimpiinggamecock's comment suggesting that at 23-7 we are off to a slow start.

I gotcha haha. It is hard to consider 23-7 a slow start, but I do think this team has yet to hit their stride yet, which is obviously a good thing. I'm pretty sure we'd all rather be playing our best all year at the end of the year.

They should be. They've been dominant all year. Which is too bad for them because most teams who seemingly play flawless throughout the regular reason find a way to not win it all. A guy we really wanted but lost out to UNC for, Landon Lassiter, is a freshman SS who's tearing it up for them right now. Hitting .380+.

They have been "dominant" because they have played pretty much no one worth a crap in or out of conference. They don't even play FSU this year.

JackLegg seems to be of the opinion that UNC is the best they'll play this year, that their pitchers are the best they'll see. Hmmm JackLegg...you couldn't score off but one of our pitchers!

And yes, UNC has not played anyone of note this season, and won't in the ACC. It's the same stuff, different year.
