Default U.S. Open-tennis

Looks like CBS could get SEC games starting in week 1.

If I'm CBS I don't even fight this or counter offer they have the 4 biggest things in sports already Pro football, college football, Masters and NCAA tourney focus on those to make more money.

There was a time, quite awhile back, when prime time US Open Tennis was a big business. Sure do miss those days, I can't believe how far US men's tennis has fallen. No fuss from me if I was a sports executive at CBS.

My wife and I along with some friends have been going to NY for 4-5 days for the Open
more than 20 years. Always look forward to the trip....watching tennis during the day and going to great restaurants/Broadway at night.

I've never been to a major tennis tournament, but I would love to go. I remember growing up I used to watch the big tournaments with my dad and those were the days of Sampras and Agassi. Tennis is also a very fun sport to go out and play amongst friends.

US men may be down in tennis. However, I think this is the healthiest the men's game has been in the history of the sport. It's truly global now - Nadal, Murray, Djokovic, Federer, Del Potro, Tsonga and the other French guys.

I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of the Australian Open. Every year, I stay up into the wee hours of the morning watching that tournament. It's my favorite one of the year. U.S. Open is still big. However, US fans will get into it more if more Americans are competing again. There are some good young US women on the rise though so keep an eye on them (like Sloane Stephens).

However, I can't see how anyone could possible say men's tennis is boring or not interesting any more. That's impossible. In the last few years, we've had some of the best classic matches in the history of tennis.
