Yeah me too, i mean you really got to move around the special move stick to have a chance, but it is possible. Also, with pass happy teams, choose more pass-based defense. It helps with the lack of pass rush ability.

Frantically push the stick towards the lineman to truck him. Use acceleration button to disengage and burst past him. Its very technical this year. But on heisman I'm averaging 5 dline sacks a game

I played the first game and Clowney had 4 sacks against UNC. Use the sticks and work around them.

I'll echo everyone else on here. Its all about using the sticks and the way I do it is to try and plow the OL over then back my guy up and go around him. Every now and then you will just blow the OL up allowing you to destroy the QB. Through 4 games in my OD I have 10 sacks with one of my DE's.

Forget sticks... if your playing carolina, just let the defense do its thing and Clowney comes out with 4-5 sacks each time against NC

When the ball is snapped, use only the left stick to move toward the tackle (it'll seem slow). Then, after Clowney has gained some momentum, simultaneously slam on the right trigger (sprint) and down on the right stick. I'd say about 75% of the time you will completely flatten the tackle or perform a spin move untouched and I have averaged around 5-6 sacks a game with him on Heisman difficulty.

I blitz a lot of high tempo offenses. I use a zone coverage and then before the snap I'll send my LB's blitzing while my safeties stay in a zone coverage. I also will shift my D-line every play to the left or right. Sometimes it works great and other times I'll get eaten up down field as expected. I average around 4 or 5 sacks a game depending on who I'm playing. I sacked VT 9 times in the NC game.

Regardless of what defense/package I'm running, I almost always hot route my DEs to blitz. And sometimes move them a step outside. It puts them on more of a straight line blitz instead of crashing down on the OT.

I'm starting to get mad with all the missed sacks on QBs. Its annoying to no end to have Clowney hit the QB and bounce off.

Default Re: Defensive Line Controls

Get you're Left Defensive End, I dont care who it is. Move him to the outside shoulder of the Lineman trying to block him 1v1. Then flick the right stick to the right as soon as you can when you are engaged by the blocker and you will swim move right around him. Practice this until you get your timing right and you can get 5+ sacks per game with any decent DE rated 80 or above.

You can also blitz the OLB into the inside shoulder of the OLineman (you are on the outside shoulder) and either the Lineman will have to choose or one of you goes in untouched which is usually the OLB for a clean sack.

References: I had 63 sacks in my first season with Clowney playing on Heisman mode with 5 min quarters.. I was not up for the Heisman either. I guess EA hasn't quite figured out to get defensive players onto the Heisman list.
