Default Norwood on NBC Sports

Norwood playing for the Hamilton Tiger Cats, now on NBC Sports. He is 40 in white. 220 on direct tv.

They are moving him around. He was picked up on July 2. I believe he has 12 tackles so far in two games.

You can't beat guys like Thompson, Lattimore, or Clowney. You know, players that are really good on the field, but polite and class acts off the field.

I think with the recent success many people look at Lattimore, or Thompson/Shaw as one of the favorite players in USC history for the way they play on the field but also act off the field. But not to long ago, that guy was Eric Norwood. Completely dominating games as an "undersized" guy. Not the big 4* or 5* guy out of high school. Played the game the right way, and was good at it. Suck it didn't work out for him in the NFL.

But he will forever be one of my favorite Gamecocks simply for how he played, was a class act off the field, and this moment after we beat #8 Kentucky during his interview with Erin Andrews...

Couldn't agree more! One of the players that really cemented my love affair with Defense!

The fact that Norwood couldn't find a home in the NFL is the best example of why college football is far more exciting than the present day NFL.
I never thought there would come a time when I couldn't find a single NFL game I cared to watch some weeks but that time has come.
Yet there is seldom a Saturday when I am not having to watch two fantastic college games at the same time while keeping tabs on two more.
The NFL is boring.

no offense to Norwood.....but its not the NFL's fault that he is a tweener.....he got screwed by being draft by a 4-3 team in the Panthers who tried to bulk him up and make him a DE

if he wouldve been drafted by a 3-4 team for the OLB spot, then he is still prb in the league as a back up

The organization cut him supposedly due to lack of effort.

Yes, but in his defense they had him playing a position he simply wasn't cut out to play in the NFL. Had he been drafted by a 3-4 defensive team, who had young LB's at the time. He may still be on an NFL roster.

It sucks for him. But he knew this going into pro football. He knew he wasn't a true DE or LB. But had he got lucky and been drafted by a 3-4 team he had a shot. His luck ran out, he made best of what he could in Carolina. When he was released he found a CFL team and he's still playing.

I feel bad for him for not making it in the NFL. Because when he was in college he certainly had the tools to be a great football player. But the NFL is all about size and it would've taken a lot for him to make it in the NFL. It was a long shot. However, I can't feel that bad for him because he's still making money playing football for a living.
