Default QB guru George Whitfield on Dylan Thompson

For those that are TBS members, here is the article.

For those that aren't, basically George Whitfield talks about the time he worked with Dylan this Summer. Had a lot of positive things to say about his mechanics and his mental makeup.

Whitfield has a pretty decent list of established pro QBs he has tutored.

And of course, like the title of the article says .. "He is on track to play on Sundays"

I said this in another thread, and I will say it here. Dylan Thompson will end up a first round pick. He has the arm for it. He has the size. He has the intangibles.

He has his priorities straight, he'll just need that first opportunity. His patience is a great virtue towards this goal. This man knows how to approach the game and life.

I doubt he'll be a 1st round pick because he will have been a starter only in his senior year.

I really think he'll light it up his senior year.

So yeah, I could see him getting drafted. Round one probably not, but 2nd or 3rd sure.

Eh, that is a stretch. I think if he was a 1st round talent, he would be the starting QB going into next week.

I do, however, feel like he could end up being a 2nd-3rd round guy but a lot of it is going to depend on the pass protection he gets next season (heck, even this season). If the line comes together like we think it can, Dylan should have a front that returns 4 of 5 starters and all the key backups in 2014. He also gets his backfield back and all of the perimeter targets.

Like Bill Gunter mentioned earlier this week, Thompson could be the triggerman for the best offense at USC since maybe the Taneyhill days in 2014.

Don't have any idea about draft status. Do know I'd take Dylan before I'd take Tajh.

I have no idea where he will end up being drafted. With that being said, what is the QB depth like for the 2015 draft? I think the 2014 QB depth is suppose to be good, not sure about 2015.

i don't know. i love DT, but he's a little goofy and doesn't move like a natural athlete (i.e., Russell Wilson, Connor Shaw)

i think this would be his greatest drawback.

Well, we know Dylan can read a defense as opposed to simply throwing screens and fades to a 4.3 guy.

Also, I heard Tom Brady had one of the slowest 40 times at the combine for a QB ever. Seems legit to me.

I definately see Dylan playing on Sunday's. He can read a defense, he sees the whole field, and once he knows where he wants it to go, the ball is out. Not to mention the mental toughness.

Ha ha. I really was pointing that to the Boyd comments, but I understand. Shaw, IMO, is smart in reading defenses, just not in their entirety (i.e. running quickly). He is also intelligent with his feet.
