Default A good problem we have: an abundance of WRs

I just wanted to give a shout out to our WR corps tonight. I think they all showed out pretty well, even without Bruuuuuuuce. The only 2 I thought didn't get much play were Jody Fuller and Kwinton Smith.

And holy shit, if Conner had taken a half yard off that last pass, Pharaoh Coopers first catch would have been a 90 yard TD. So close.

Nick Jones is going to have a big year especially when Bruce is back at 100%.

Damiere Byrd almost whiffed on a few blocks on screen plays that Jones could've turned into big gains.

Jones/Ellington/Roland is going to be fun to watch.

And it was on back to back plays.

Overall I thought they were pretty good last night.

Roland should of came up with that catch for a 2nd TD. Alshon or Sidney make that play. First game so maybe he gets more confidence and plays better and more sure of himself from this point on and becomes that guy.

Byrd looked good on the coverage team last night. WRs were open on nearly every play. Don't want to turn this to a Shaw vs Thompson because I feel there is a reason the coaches played Shaw more, however, I feel that Thompson would have thrown for 250+ last night. This would have also opened up our running game more. Wrs were there either open or blocking.

Kwinton was suspended for the first half and we hardly threw in the second half.

He has got to catch the ball with his hands on that play. That seems to be a problem with all of our young receivers in Spurrier's tenure, they try to catch the ball with their bodies.

The crossing route looked like a straight overthrow. I don't remember the 2nd one.

Still, he had the most catches last night. Its a positive sign when the B receiver is getting targets.

Yeah, even the TD catch I thought he let get in on his body and I bet it we'll see one doink off his pads at some point this season.

D. Byrd saves us on special teams over and over. He chases down the opponent from the back and has great hands on fumbles.
Bruce or Byrd would have caught Shaq's incomplete catch.

I slammed the table at The Roost pretty damn hard after that one. That would have been HUGE as far as the game was concerned. Score then and it's a back breaker for the Heels.

Roland did drop the one TD pass and I agree that he has to make that catch. But he did make a very nice grab after that, where he caught the nose of the football with his hands. Dont give up on Rolands hands quite yet.

He's still young and doing what inexperienced WRs do. He tried to catch it with his body instead of his hands. He will get over that eventually.

it seems that when they miss balls at this time in their careers it has to be more mental than ability. we know they have the ability or they wouldn't even be on the team.
