Default Anybody have a job opening?

After over 5 years with the state, my employment ended today. I know there are 'PC' ways to talk about resigning, but here is what happened:

In an email, I acknowledged there were problems with a statewide term contract I was managing (not one that I wrote mind you). I said I believed other people (not myself) were abusing the contract but have no evidence of it happening. Because of this, the political department I worked in, viewed acknowledging a problem was un-professional. I could resign, or . . . . well, you know.

I was never so much as had a 'write up' while employed, and over five years was promoted twice during a down economy.

If anyone has any caliber of work, I would be most appreciative. I'm 32, have a bachelors degree in Business Management and procurement (contract administration) experience and references. I am a former active duty Marine, complete with my DD-214 (honorable discharge).

I am not necessarily looking for more office work. I feel (like any man) that I have a responsibility to my family to remain a provider. We have money saved and are not in any immediate detriment, and through budgeting can maintain our current life on my wife's salary alone (not that I would let that happen).

I am physically able to do any manner of work, have my bachelors, and am hunting anything 28k+ (will lower as time goes on, this is a significant pay-cut). If, over time, options seem limited, I will likely go back to school and/or certifications in the IT field to use my remaining GI Bill benefits.

To not make a post that is too lengthy, please PM me with any follow up questions/resume/opportunities.

Go Cocks!
