Default OL: Sacks given up

I wasn't able to watch the game in its entirety (yet), did our OL give up any sacks? I know coming into the UK game, they had only given up 4 on the year!

Dylan was sacked once on his possession.

Connor was credited with being sacked twice. Once was only a 2 yd sack and the other was the Intential Grounding.

Other than that, not a lot of "backwards plays" as Spurrier likes to call 'em

One of kentucky's defensive ends is a pretty good player I believe. he gave the line some trouble.

I credit shaw as much as the OL.

Getting rid of the ball and making plays happen when there's nothing downfield.

Of course you do. However, if we were giving up a lot of sacks...it would be the OL's fault like it has been for the past 5 years. It hasn't had anything to do (in the fan's minds) with Garcia/Shaw making slow decisions and holding the ball too long. But not, we're not giving up a bunch, it's because he makes quick decisions to throw or run......

Not only am I noticing pass blocking improvements, the OL is just as good or BETTER at run blocking! I hope that Donnell Stanley and the two JUCO OTs that we are after are taking notice!! Would still love to see David Sharp in Garnet & Black but being realistic at this point.

I think the improvement is both Connor and the OL. He is not taking dumb 3 yard sacks by stepping out of bounds instead of throwing it away. They are doing a good job of keeping the pocket clean. He is not stepping all the way through the pocket as often as he used to. Instead he steps up into the pocket, or rolls outside when he needs too.
