The neon green probably would of went better with it, but they probably wanted to keep it more macho with the black/grey.

F the Susan Komen foundation and I'm not afraid to say it. This is exactly why the organization is a corrupt organization with no concern for breast cancer research. This is a piece of evidence A-number-1.

It's astounding how much money that corrupt organization takes in and they waste it all on stupid Publicity stunts and redundant public awareness campaigns while women with breast cancer die. If you want to give money to breast cancer research, find another organization because those people don't care about breast cancer research -- they care about keeping their careers in marketing afloat. Not to mention the ridiculous number of attorneys and infrastructure they employ in order to take money from other organizations that actually do support research to end breast cancer.

Every year it gets worse. Those pink helmets, pink airplanes, pink uniforms, pink ribbons, and pink awareness campaigns are nothing but green for a lot of people, and have nothing to do with curing breast cancer.

I agree. There are a lot better ways to raise awareness or money for breast cancer research than all of the junk we see in sports and mainstream media today.

Im sick of all of this pink. The NFL does it for 1 week (with the uni's and accessories) but for some reason, CFB teams feel like they need to do it all month. Its distracting and unnecessary. There are several types of cancer that kill more people than breast cancer but yet they don't have any support among CFB teams or the NFL. I'm all for one week but an entire month is redundant and annoying. Rant over.

Great post. You can fund cancer research without obnoxiously making everything pink. But I don't think this is about funding cancer research as it is making money off of the issue.

Kudos.

Scary thing is how the funds that don't line their pockets go to planned parenthood...

I stand corrected, the game is benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which is (as far as I can tell) associated with the Jimmy V Fund.

I found this from when they hosted a Texas A&M fundraiser:

Quote:
Thanks so much for your email! We appreciate your taking the time to check with us regarding our affiliations. We are, in no way, associated with the Susan G. Komen organization, nor do we support Planned Parenthood. Our organization was founded in partnership with The V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association in order to be a part of the fight against women’s cancers through scientific research. I hope that you will not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions or if we can help to clarify any of the details regarding the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
But I don't know why they're also using pink, because people who don't know any better will either (a) associate them with the Komen Foundation like I did, and not support them, or (b) support them and Komen Foundation because they don't know the difference.

Don't get me wrong. Cancer is awful. I just don't want to donate money to anything that lies about where the money is spent. Sorry for hijacking

Still, the obsessive use of pink is unnecessary.
