Default Connor Shaw

I am a big Shaw fan but he did not play a good game last night. He was off target on several throws but did settle down a little near the end of the game. I know Florida's defense is great but he was missing guys that were wide open.

He is gonna have to play better especially in the SEC Champ game or we are gonna get beat bad and yes were going to the SEC Champ cause Mizzu is not gonna beat both Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Go Cocks!!!

FYI, it's "Connor".

Agreed. He didn't play his best game. Hopefully he regains his mojo ASAP.

He seems several steps slower and it's not just against Florida. Connor has legitimate speed and, though I'm not really seeing much of a limp, he doesn't seem to have the burst he had.

I think him and Mike Davis have been truly nicked up for a number of weeks. Clowney, too.

I guess it's just the nature of the beast in the SEC.

I feel the same way. I'm hoping we can come out and dominate Coastal early and get these guys some rest.

Need Davis and Shaw as healthy and as rested as possible for the last game of the regular season that could/ should be a battle of two BCS top ten teams.

Honestly Alabama looks very beatable at this point. He was just amped up. He'll be read to go out with a bang, he's a gamer after all.

They are. Main reason we threw so much. Probably best pass D we've faced and they covered the E/W stuff very well. It will be interesting to see them play FSU.

Good news is we did not self destruct when the pressure was on.

We will not beat either one on that performance last night so it doesn't really matter. The biggest concern was that worst offense in the SEC ran up and down the field on us and we made a 3rd string QB that nobody wanted in the game look like Dan Marino.

I agree with the running part but thought the defense played much better in the second half. Problem is both Alabama and Auburn are running teams. However, a win is a win and I will take it go cocks!!

They ran the ball on us in the first half. They couldn't do squat in the 2nd half. In fact the defense shut them out in the 2nd half. What's this about the QB looking like Dan Marino. He only attempted 13 passes and some of them were behind the line of scrimmage and he had a pick as soon as we forced him to throw down field. That's why they didn't throw it much. Our defense was super.
It was our offense that struggled, again.

Default Re: Conner Shaw

Connor's game has gone the deep end for a while now....the cameo heroics late in the Missouri game may have sealed his status at South Carolina, and rightfully so, but:

Tennessee:
7-21, 161 yds, 1 td, 1 int - was then lost for the rest of game to a knee injury

Miss State:
10-20, 147 yds, 4 tds, 0 int - was beneficiary of multiple short fields due to MSU TOs, which explain the 4 td passes

Florida:
14-28, 213 yds, 1 td, 0 int

Total is 31-69 (44.9%) for 521 yds (173.7 ypg), 6 tds, 1 int

That's not the Connor Shaw we've seen throwing the past 2 seasons, even when he was playing hurt, which he may be now. But he's been inaccurate on many of his passes, and on plays that were good plays for big passing gains had he connected with the receivers. It's a very concerning trend...

Maybe he can find his rhythm against CC and take that into the klimpsun game. We just need to find a way to win these last two games.

If we get to ATL, he'll do everything he can to lead our team to a win.

He's played through some injuries this year and his knee is probably still banged up, he's just got to keep doing what he's doing. He's not turning the ball over and that's a big reason for our last two wins.

Nobody would catch a ball during the UT game, Connors stats are comparable to Aj, they both manage the games well.

He'll do everything he can but it won't be enough. Give Saban a couple of weeks to watch film and he'll have Shaw figured out. He just doesn't have what it takes to get us past Bama. To be honest, if our d doesn't shape up, Bama will eat us up.
We sem to be regressing in some areas.

Just a terribly called game last night. You beat Florida by running the ball. Vandy's QB was 6/12 for 57 yards against the Gators. Of course, Spurrier MUST pass the ball. We all know it; our opponents all know it. Oh, well. We won. It is what it is.
