And Texas Tech is 7-5 this year.

I'm not by any means defending Clemson, just adding Baylor really hasn't played much either.

I agree but Okla and Texas are at least ranked. TCU and Texas tech are decent

I agree kinda but they play in a real conference they are 9-3 at best. These teams get to go to the bcs at the expense of deserving teams like this years USC team.

Best 4-8 team around, but yeah, still 4-8. I went to most of their home games and watched the others. Several 3 point losses (Oklahoma, West Virginia, K-State, and Baylor) plus a rash of injuries and the 2d youngest team in D-1 made it a long year.

assuming ohio state wins today and michigan state remains in the top 14, you'd have to assume the orange will take alabama to replace fsu as their first pick. then youre looking at seccg winner in the sugar and the sugar getting first choice amongst oregon, a top 14 big 12 non conference champ (oklahoma, oklahoma st as of now), and clemson. then the orange will get the choice between the remaining two.

right now id rather see bama vs big 12/oregon than clemson. no idea which way the orange will go though.

The computers had NIU ranked so high I wonder how bad it will hurt them in their programming.

Doesn't Clemson have to be ranked in the top 12 to get an at large bid. They are #13 now and Oklahoma's (#17) win today may allow them to jump the taters.

14, theyll still likely be top 14 unless something extremely impossible happens. really the only way clemson can be outright (virtually) eliminated from bcs contention is if duke beats fsu.

Interesting take....

Regardless there is no way in hell any ACC schedule trumps an 11-1 Big 12 teams'. Clemson had some tough games but the rest of them were absolute cupcakes.

This whole thing got a hell of a lot more interesting bc these Big 12 matchups could ultimately push Clemson out. Which it should...

The Oklahoma win today pushes Clemson to 14 (assuming no other upsets).....so is the Orange absolutely required to take an eligible at large ACC team instead of taking Alabama at #4.

no, i think theyll take alabama first but with their final selection they may get some pressure since its an acc host bowl to take clemson. its possible they could take clemson first but then the sugar would have no problem with an iron bowl rematch or mizzou vs alabama. the orange wont risk losing alabama. that last selection still will likely be between clemson and a higher ranked big 12 team or oregon.

Meh. Even at 10-2 our resume is much better than teams that will get in.

Also when u don't play anyone you don't have chances to trip up playing 3 straight road games in environments like neland.

The Orange Bowl is not required to take an at large ACC school.

They'll take Bama with their first pick.

The Bowl lock-in system is flawed. The conference runner-up should get the conference bowl tie-in if their champion goes to the BCS title game. Missouri should get the Sugar and Duke should get the Orange.
