Default Trouble looming for Alabama?

Yes we have traveled through this topic before but it still may be relevant. Is this going to hurt Alabama?

Alabama football is too big to fail. Worst case, a few scholarships down the road but nothing significant.

If they can't prove anything was given for benefits, then nothing will happen.

Once again it's only cheating if the NCAA can find out.

How we missed that I don't know. They're already on probation, and last month they self report not one, not two, not even three, but 44, I repeat 44 secondary violations! How that doesn't get bundled together and made into a major violation I don't know, and they're already on probation!

Also, http://outkickthecoverage.com/alabam...swear-case.php

I'ts been basically proven that Alabama has already committed a violation with the men's store angle.

44 Minor Violations =/= a Major Violations And those were 44 Minor Violations from Alabama Athletics, NOT Alabama football. (it was 16 from football) 3-4 of those were the Dareus instance which he was suspended 2 games for. Those Minor ones were given rules education punishments, and time period bans/prohibitions.

Schools Commit Minor Violations all the Time.We even had them, Michigan has had them etc. Wisconsin committed a bunch this summer in their recruitment of Russell Wilson.

But the Death Penalty is given for Major Repeat Offenders, (So no UNC will not be getting the Death Penalty since they aren't on probation)
Actually, Oklahoma Men's basketball is technically eligible for the Death Penalty after they committed another major infraction this year, (they were probation after major violations committed by Kelvin Sampson)

BUT, if these Clay Travis Stories later show factual evidence to the NCAA that a MAJOR violation has occurred (Basically the big one being Players were given Benefits for signing autographs)
then yes the would be eligible for the Death Penalty.

Just saying that if Auburn is found guilty of P-f-p with Cam, they won't get the Death Penalty. clearing that one for people who come yelling for the programs head because that's not what the rule says.

You're forgetting that UA is already on probation, so 2ndary violations are taken more seriously.

ya more seriously? then why have those Punishments for Minor Violations already been served?

the biggest Violation that occurred was Dareus, and the NCAA agreed with a 2 game suspension. At first was going to be 4 games.

And hey no Death penalty or words of longer probation from the NCAA.

They (minor violations) even when schools are on probation, aren't taken as seriously because schools commit minor violations all the time.

But if this T-Town menswear is a major violation... then yes they could get f'd

What I'd like to know is how many secondary violations does a school have to have before the NCAA will give them the label "lack of institutional control". Most of Bama's violations are "extra benefits" it seems.

here's the report.

The worst football where Benefits were given (aka talking with an agent) was dareus and he received a 2 game suspension.
The rest are impermissible mentions of Recruits, texts to a recruits parent and emails (and one where a player sold equipment-but unlike Ohio State, they notified the NCAA and suspended him)
