One of my girlfriends best friends lives in an apartment complex behind Target on Garners Ferry. In fact, they're making plans to move in together in the same complex sometime in May. It's either called Hampton Greene or Hampton Courts.

You can get a one bedroom at Granby Oaks for around $700/month (next to the BiLo up the street from the baseball stadium). I've heard that the management is lacking in customer service but that, as long as you keep on them about stuff and keep record of your requests/issues, it's a good place.

I lived in Hampton Greene for along time like 4 or 5 years. Never had any issues except for the crazy drunk driver that crushed my wife's car and hit like 4 others

The Biltmore in Forest Acres is nice. I'm looking to move there if I don't move out of Columbia. It's probably 10 minutes from downtown and it's an indoor "highrise" (so like 8 floors) that's very safe. You need a key or to be buzzed in to enter the building. And what I like most of all, utilities are included in rent. One flat rate each month. And they are still affordable.
