Default Accounting/Finance Qualifications

Does anybody know if/to what extent International Chartered Accounting qualifications are recognised in the US? I have a Finance degree and within the next couple of months will become a chartered management accountant (sitting my final exams this summer).

I have ambitions of working in the US in the near future, will it be next to impossible to obtain a visa/ gain employment in this field? I currently work for a US company so I guess my best chance would be to push for an L-1 Intracompany Transferee visa?

Does anybody know if I would need to convert my qualification to a US equivalent e.g. CPA or does anybody know somebody who has taken this route?

Thanks,

British

Default Re: Accounting/Finance Qualifications

I'm currently going through the CPA exam right now and I haven't seen anything that would indicate you can somehow translate your certification into a CPA. I did a google search and didn't see anything either. Your best bet would be to contact the AICPA or, if you have a state in mind, check out that state's boards via NASBA.org. I'm under the impression however that you'd have to go through the process like anyone else, since the REG & AUD sections definitely has to do with US regulations & such.
