Yea I watched A&M on the SEC Network last night and although they lost some wideouts, the ones that are still on the team are huge and fast. If OUR receivers are burning our coverage in practices and scrimmages, that doesn't bode well against A&M.

The closer the game gets, the more concerned I'm getting over the losses that we took on defense. This first couple of games will be a trial by fire scenario and the hope for ME is that our offense can keep A&M's off the field as much as possible AND that OUR 12th MAN is in RARE form Thursday night.

I think this game could be one of the toughest matchups for our defense all season long. The "air raid" offense and those tall receivers...mixed in with their speed at that position is a little scary. This could be a game where the last team with the ball wins.

Just hope we can escape Willy B with a "W" for this one.

"The other prominent feature of the A&M offense is their two-back shotgun set, from which they primarily run inside zone: The Aggies can utilize tight end/fullback Cameron Clear in these sets as a 6'6, 285-pound wrecking ball to set up starting tailback Tra Carson, who's something of a wrecking ball himself."

I had a dream last night that we ran inside zone from a 2 back set on the goal-line with Abu Lamin and he scored a TD. Now this will probably never happen, but I also had a dream the offseason before we beat Alabama that we beat alabama while they were #1.

I think Ward has shown a keen ability (and has the personnel)to adapt his defense to whatever offensive schemes they'll throw at us. aTm doesn't have that same ability right now defensively. That's why we win.

They'll probably replace their QB with a five star QB and their WR with another great WR. Their skill group as a whole is incredibly loaded.

No way man, we are the only team in the SEC that can reload without having any major setbacks.

Ball control. They can't score on you if they don't have the ball.

I've been worried about our defensive personnel all off-season, and these practice reports haven't soothed any of those concerns. English appears to have put on weight, but most of the site guys observing practice anticipate we'll have a tough time rushing the passer.

Additionally, of the few guys we have returning at CB, their progression appears to be disappointing. Our starters will likely be a converted safety (Williams) and a true freshman (Harris, Jr.). Green and Lammons are said to be in the mix. The fact that McWilliams, Groves, and Smith haven't been able to beat out true freshmen is disconcerting.

A poor pass rush and inexperience at CB will not be pretty against adequate passing teams. I expect we'll give up plenty of points against A&M.

I think Thompson is a wonderful guy but I'm not sold on him as a starting QB, particularly considering what we saw from him last season. I'm not particularly keen on the idea of Dylan having to win a few shootouts. I think we'll have a solid run game, very good offensive line, and adequate WRs. We'll need to play as much ground n' pound as we can in order to give our defense as much rest as possible.

Unfortunately I'm not feeling optimistic about the A&M game (and a few others vs. solid passing teams) but I'm hopeful the crowd can give us an X-factor.

I'm not terrified of this game, but I don't think it'll be a slam dunk either. I think it's a perfect example of an opponent we're fortunate to have in Week 1 rather than Week 11. Once A&M has had some time to break in their new QB and iron out some issues on defense, they could be pretty scary. But are they going to have everything locked down and air tight in time for us? Very much doubt it.

The thing I notice that Whammy and his team are good at is the NFL art of bump and run at the line to off set the receiver routes. We have the speed at CB to play man. In fact the time you read to this point is the time we need to lock down their receivers. In addition we have two long SS and FS with great range. The key is the pass rush, inwhich I feel will be better than last year. G Dixon and English are beast.

Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion, but what's your basis for this thought? We are losing the best DE in school history (Clowney) and another decent pass-rusher in Sutton, and replacing them with two guys (English and Dixon) with a combined 1.5 career sacks. And I've never heard anyone say that Dixon is a pass-rush threat, instead he's a run-stopper.

It is what it is....

No one is touting our D (except Daeshan Hall and Myles Garrett). Our bright spots are our 3 RBs, our OL, our TE who was ignored last year (which is criminal when you see this guy catch the ball), and our WR group. Whether our QB can find the open guy is another story...

Speedy Noil, Ricky Seals Jones, Malcome Kennedy, and Josh Reynolds are looking very strong in camp.

Malcome Kennedy is going to be your best wr til week5, which is why I think we win. Not saying he isn't great but ATM won't truly be deadly until timing etc is down. Same time you guys could coming out clicking on all cylinders which would suck.
