Default Connor Mitch

How's he looked? Haven't seen a whole lot about his performance thus far. Always just a play away from having the backup in the game so I'm curious as to how he's looked.

Doing very well. He's #2 right now. I wouldn't want him to have to start right now, just from the lack of experience. I hope that he gets a good bit of mop up duty this year, and can start for us next year.

So far he has settled into the backup position with solid if not spectacular numbers. But Perry Orth (soph walkon) is coming on quickly!

In the scrimmage Saturday, he looked good but not sharp. He seemed confident and comfortable with the part of the offense they were using. The no 3 guy, Orth, looked to like the rollout, but Mitch seems like a dropback/pocket guy.

Sounds good. It's been a little concerning to hear so much that Dylan is clearly the starter and far ahead of the pack, mostly because it means there's a huge drop-off from starter to back-up. Obviously it's great that we have a clear-cut starter, but we need a capable back-up as well. Hopefully Connor can get some good mop-up duty this season and be set up for the next 3 years.

At this point...he can look like polished diamonds but still needs to play.
He has to play to get better...and he's going to make beginner mistakes....they all do. I hope everyone remembers that.

Which is why I hope he gets some meaningful snaps this year and not just mop up duty. He's got all the tools and has answered the question on whether he's been giving 100% with a great Summer improving on his game and knowledge of the playbook. Hopefully Spurrier will give him a series or two against several SEC defenses to get him ready.

What no Mt. Lattimore?...better wait on judgment until he is able to opine. He has some great inside info. I think he rooms with CM or something like that.

Yea...but you know some guys are more ready than others...Aaron Murray was one.

We're used to seeing our guys take a while to grow into the game and I expect the same with Connor Mitch, but he could be an exception.

With the exception of Garcia wasn't Mitch the best QB that Spurrier had pulled at that point. Heck maybe rated higher than Garcia even coming out.

Spurrier Loves him some CMitch if Dylan struggles you know what he will do. Might be trying to make CMitch earn it.

I agree, but clearly SOS has confidence in Dylan which he doesn't have in Mitch.....at this point. And Dylan knows the offense better.

Yes, Mitch is Spurriers best quarterback pull. Telling Mitch he would not retire until he, "Mitch" left.

According to Mt Lattimore c mitch actually taught Spurrier how to play the position, he throws a 200 yard bomb on his knees, has better accuracy than Tom Brady.... oh and he rescues kittens from trees on his way home from practice. ...

Dylan is a senior with five years in the system, a couple starts, as well as meaningful playing time in other games. Of course he is going to be head and heals above guys who have only been in the system 1-2 years and have no meaningful playing time.
