GCC Reporting that King is in White today

White is the color jersey that the defense wears, so if King is in White, looks like they've decided he can help the team out faster on defense and in the off season next year, maybe they will work on getting him to be a LT but for the short term, if Eckerson or Richardson can play LT, King can help fill the void for out 4th DE.

I would love to see him on the defense. Hopefully they have figured a solid 5 at OL. The dl is the thinnest position we have on defense.

Would you rather have someone fill a posistion of great need and be pretty solid... or play a posistion with good depth but be an All-American... heisman type player.

fill the need,... always improve your weaknesses, not that def. line is a "weakness"

I think King can help us more on the DL this year than he can at LT. The truth of the matter is not that he can not play LT, just that trying to learn that position in 1 month of practice is a little much to expect from him. Had he come to SC in January, went through the winter workouts, spring practice, summer workouts, and then fall practice, yes he prob could of been ready for 8/28. The fact is that he has been missing important reps because of a hamstring injury and its easier to contribute for us THIS YEAR on the DL.

Going by that philosophy, I'd put him on DL. He is a JUCO recruit after all, and he needs to make the absolute most of his limited years here. I think he'll be able to do that on the DL. Now, if he was a Freshman... entirely different scenario altogether.

it pretty much all depends on perspective. theres an argument for needing him more on either side. i say we could probably use him more on the dline this year. i still think we're in the position to put him wherever we think he will be best at, so wherever the coaches decide that may be. 2009 with travian likely moving to dt, we'll have 2 probable experienced guys at de in cliff and clifton. who knows if ingram is at de or dt at that time or how many of the young guys will have emerged by that time. kinda similar at ot, we'll probably have quinton and hutch and then some guys we hope emerge as viable backups or maybe even challenge for playing time. if he's best at left tackle then scratch the following, but if all things are equal i'd rather have him at de, if jarriel plays this year that would give us at least 3 guys we like at de going into next year. then guys like mcknight, taylor, sutton, byrd, suddenly become gravy, or good situational pass rushers as opposed to being counted on for snaps.

He needs to play where ever he is needed most. Even if he could be an All American on the D line, I would rather see him be where he heleps the team the most.

Damn what a nasty trick, I was excited! I agree with most, if King is needed at LT then thats where he should be. However I think we could use him much more effectively this year at DE.

What concerns me more than the misinformation is that a Gamecock board has spies calling in stuff from closed practices. SOS closed them for a reason. Info on those practices should come only from him. If I were USC I would severely limit access to the public practices of sites that spy on the closed ones.
