It's clear that he really takes an interest in young men as human beings, and wants to see them do well...I know he doesn't do it to benefit himself, but that kind of mentality goes a long way towards explaining his success as a coach and a recruiter.

Carroll simply wasn't cut-out for the bottom-line-is-everything NFL, but his presence makes college football better. Thank God we don't have to go up against his teams on Saturday.

I was more impressed with the way he runs his practices- full speed, full contact, piped in crowd noise, public welcome to attend to provide a gametime atmosphere, he even has tv timeouts so that when they play a game the players are used to the contact, used to the atmosphere and are used to tempo of the game. Steve Spurrier could take some lessons from PCarrol on how to run a practice.

He also says he tries to build up his players.

He always tries to get them to believe something postive will happen around the corner.

You NEVER see Pete Carroll throw one of his players under the bus.

I saw most of that. He seems like good guy. On the other hand, his school uses dirty tactic to get the players they want and stay up in the top tier like they do, and they get away with it.
